Sofia + Family :: Family Portraiture

Photographing babies is a lot of fun, you get to work with creative props, unique set ups and themes. But what happens if a child is afraid of the camera, or maybe the photographer? This little beauty had me in some new uncharted territory. Anytime I approached her, she would start crying. At some point I started to take it personally:)But with some time and patience I did get her to smile for a few adorable images. I hope her parents will enjoy these images as much as I do:)

This is Charley, he is a part of the family and joined the photo shoot!

Little Mr. N :: Newborn Photography

I present to you, the sweetest little newborn boy. Mr. N was a perfect gentleman at only 14 days old. He slept through most of the session and only cried a few times demanding milk and other baby necessaries. I’m so excited to have willing clients who trust me to realize my unique set ups and ideas! Thank you, you guys are the best!

Little peanut! The amazing hand-knit cocoon is made by Knit Baby Couture.

A family portrait session took place at the Chicago Botanic Garden. I don’t go to that place often, but when I do I’m fascinated by the beautiful scenery. This time I was not the only one, which was expected. I could not hold Sofia’s gaze or smile for more than a millisecond. Her eyes wondered everywhere and I was a mild nuisance jumping up in front of her. Luckily, with her dad’s effort we were able to capture her attention for some beautiful family portraits.

This photo just makes me laugh! I call it, when babies attack:)
